After several decades using #Linux I can say that the best distributions, for me, are #Archlinux and #Debian
Arch when I need the last version of all the software I use, and Debian if I want a robust platform.

My both laptops and one server run Arch, other 4 machines use Debian (12 or 13)

When I'm not feeling very well, when I'm feeling down or blue, I put on my headphones and listen to The XX. Their music is like medicine for my soul.

Noël est souvent la période où les geeks se font "harceler" de questions techniques par leurs proches. L'année dernière, je donnais mon avis sur les boites Gmail et on me demandait quelle alternative utiliser pour la messagerie. J'étais un peu nue pour répondre à cela : protonmail ou tuta ? mais ils incitent régulièrement à passer à l'offre payante et à utiliser leurs autres services (VPN, drive, password vault...). En plus, les clients de messagerie standard ne sont pas compatibles.

C'est ce qui m'a donné l'idée de proposer https://message.casa une boite mail (avec un compte xmpp), certes limitée en volume mais gratuite et respectant les protocoles standard IMAP/POP3/SMTP.

Alors, si vous aussi on vous parle de boite mail à Noël, vous pourrez proposer message.casa ;-)

Last year, I was giving my opinion on Gmail accounts and was asked what alternative to use for email. I was a bit stumped for an answer: ProtonMail or Tuta? But they regularly encourage you to switch to the paid version and use their other services (VPN, drive, password vault, etc.). In addition, standard email clients are not compatible.

That's what gave me the idea to offer https://message.casa, an email account (with an XMPP account) that is limited in size but free and complies with standard IMAP/POP3/SMTP protocols.

I don't manage to get time to end writing the account management process of https://message.casa

It is not complicated, just registration with an invite code, and password change, but they must be secured processes.

I'd like to keep accounts anonymous, just a login and a password, without requiring an alternative email address. But this implies that it is not possible to get a link to reset the password.
Isn't it too dangerous to not have this possibility? If you lose your password, you definitively lose your account!

It's not a good idea to send the reset link to the message.casa address. If you want to reset your password, it could be because someone has stollen your device or your session.

Is there a good design pattern to reset a password without a "backup" alternative email address?

After discussions with #smolweb fans, it appears to be a good idea to add thead, tbody and tfoot to the smolweb #HTML subset.

Their semantic roles add more accessibility to the table structure.
