jump to repliesAfter several decades using #Linux I can say that the best distributions, for me, are #Archlinux and #Debian
Arch when I need the last version of all the software I use, and Debian if I want a robust platform.
My both laptops and one server run Arch, other 4 machines use Debian (12 or 13)

back to top@adele Arch and Debian are also two major non-derivative distributions which do not seem to exhibit disdain for native packages, unlike other distributions such as Fedora.
@adele 💯%
@adele i am with Debian nearly 30 years now. In the beginning i had short Tests of SLS and Slackware and went with Debian which had the most advanced package manager even at that time.
I never regrettet it. I am Linux only since '94. As a sysadmin i dont want too fast moving Distributions as e.g. Gentoo, Arch, Ubuntu etc. Even 2 years of a release cycle is really hard work taking care of hundrets of machines.
