I'm surprised to not find any crowdfunding project to manage a new community driven top level domain (TLD).
All TLDs seen to be owned by countries or U.S. org/firms.

I have not found an open and independent TLD. I miss something?

My old 7" tablet can also run #Tusky !!!

I think that my attempt to use it ONLY for reading is actually failing 😬

I'm looking for people who have successfully migrated from SQLite to PostgreSQL for #GotoSocial. I did some tinkering using PgLoader and wasn't able to migrate the schema without dropping default values and indexes.

The next step would be to take the database structure from a clean PostgreSQL installation and migrate just the data using PgLoader, but I haven't attempted that yet.

Please share your experiences :-)

I would like to acquire an eBook reader. I see that the #Kobo readers can connect to nextcloud with app #KoboCloud.

Do you use this solution ?

Any advice for Linux users to purchase the right reader: compatibility with Linux, or Nextcloud or ownCloud (no Dropbox neither GDrive for me), able to read non-drm epub and PDF.

Thanks for you help (RT if you think your followers could help)

It is no longer possible to trust the confidentiality of anything you send to a Windows user, because it’ll be screenshotted and sent to Microsoft.

Even if you trust the recipient, sending things to Windows users is functionally identical to publishing them to people who wish to exploit you.

The biggest thing that I wish people knew before starting their 1st tech job (probably most jobs) is that asking someone more experienced for the “answer” is what you should do as soon as you get stuck. It’s drilled into students that this is “cheating”, so this is a big change for new hires. The faster a new hire can unlearn that you’re not expected to do your own work without getting advice from others, the happier and more productive they will be in a team environment.

Imagining webrings as subway lines with Smallweb Subway
Toggle visibility

Blurb from the web page:

The Smallweb Subway is an experimental project that seeks to connect communities online using webrings.

[…]

The subway system theme is my attempt at making the internet feel more like a place where you can have neighbors. If a webring looks like a subway line, then it’s easier to imagine a friend only a few stops away!

I really like this visual, and being able to see different topics on their own “lines.” This feels like such an intuitive design, I hope it gets copied or riffed on elsewhere.
