@adele I identify with this post a lot because over the years I’ve been doing a way with services I don’t like and the only one left right now is signal. I never thought about giving XMPP or Delta chat a shot but I think I’m gonna look into them. Now, is the reason you don’t like Signal that is not decentralized?
@k1nch0 yes, this is the main problem. I can’t use a system depending on a single entity for development, authentication, connection and message transfer. What happens if this entity fails?
XMPP+OMEMO is the good choice for me (I know about security problems with old version of some clients but nowadays almost all xmpp users run secured versions)
I also propose two xmpp server to my contacts so I can easily trust the communication
