jump to repliesDo you know of any movement promoting minimal, utilitarian writing, stripping everything down to what the recipient actually needs?
Asking because I see many people writing a rough draft, asking an AI to polish it, bloat it, and the recipient uses another AI to summarize it. Two humans, zero actual communication.
There's #plainlanguage and #Crocker 's Rules, but nothing focused specifically on cutting the fluff from everyday writing.
Could #smolwrite (or another name) be a thing?

back to top@adele Sounds like Strunk & White to me!
@aarbrk Here, style doesn't matter. But, I understand what you mean

@adele I call it "just send me the prompt".
Sorry, that was only a half-serious reply. I think this is an interesting topic though. I don't know of any movement yet, but I'm sure you're not the only one thinking about this.
Smolwrite doesn't quite have the same ring as smolweb imo, but until a better name comes up it's as good as any.
Not a movement per se, and definitely corporate, but could Smart Brevity be what you are looking for?
@idealpoint good resource!
@adele
Would Christopher Lasch's _Plain Style_ work? Or even then little _Elements of Style_ by the _Charlotte's Web_ guy and his writing teacher?
I don't know about a movement, but writing with brevity.
