@82mhz LineageOS propose, on this version, a LiveDisplay to adapt the luminosity in function of the day/night time. A bit like Red Moon app.
In fact I read at night, so e-ink screen also need a backlight in this case.
I won't be able to compare, I've never used e-ink screen
