back to top@adele I detest a thread of toots. Either blog it, or join a server that has more flexibility
@daj @adele The one thing about a thread of posts is it allows to reply to specific parts of it. That's nice. But overall I really dislike it too. And -- if the instance supports formatting -- you can just quote the parts you want to reply to.
For instance, I like pluralistics posts, but they're often 50+ posts threads and I just don't want to read that much text in this format.
@adele@social.pollux.casa There are so many times when I see a bunch of messages in a row and I tell myself "this person needs a blog". I see the Fediverse as more of a status, notifications and quick messages thing. I prefer to have longer text elsewhere.
@adele I've selected option 1 and option 3.
I generally bookmark interesting things that I want to read later but having at hand on a chain of toots makes me want to browse the chain right away.
Btw a blog entry can be more nice, with proper formatting and images in the right places.
It seems that on Mastodon we cannot create formatted posts (and it's a pity!).
Long pas "very long" si ça tient.
Et lien vers le blog, je ne lirais probablement pas si le texte d'accompagnement n'est pas assez long pour donner envie.
