This site attempts to define what smolweb is and to give some guidelines for use. It is certainly not the only solution to get unbloated websites, but it will help authors, designers and webmasters who want to build “smolwebsites”. Do not read these recommendations as a bible, this is only what I think to be a good way to build respectful websites for authors, readers, internet bandwidth and hardware.

European IT people, it's time to wake up and open your eyes : you can no longer trust American (USA) tech services.

Amazon, Cloudflare, Microsoft, Google, Meta, Apple... will follow the instructions dictated by a fascist government.

It is a very bad idea to give the keys of our companies to such actors. Don't you think so?

Owning my Fediverse instance seems cool, but it is difficult to populate the timeline... even public timeline is empty at start. If you have not a previous account on an instance with many users, it is difficult to find interesting Tooters.
I could migrate my phpc.social account but I don't know if I will keep this #gotosocial instance.

Good to know, if you run #gotosocial on an Intel™ N280x cpu, embedded wasm does not work. Install gotosocial-nowasm tarball and ffmpeg, ffprobe and sqlite3 packages from your distro.
Otherwise you couldn't find account with emoji in the name or special profile photo.
